A delightful sweet and savory snack featuring toasted baguette slices topped with grilled halloumi cheese, fresh figs, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
Preheat your oven or toaster oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the baguette slices lightly with olive oil and arrange them on a baking sheet. Toast for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden.
While the baguette is toasting, preheat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Grill or pan-fry the halloumi slices for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly softened.
Once the baguette slices are toasted and the halloumi is grilled, assemble the crostini. Place a slice of grilled halloumi on each toasted baguette slice.
Top each crostini with fig quarters.
Drizzle with balsamic glaze to taste.
Garnish with fresh thyme leaves (optional).

If you don't have balsamic glaze, you can make your own by simmering balsamic vinegar in a saucepan over low heat until it reduces and thickens.
For a richer flavor, try using a high-quality balsamic glaze.
To easily toast the baguette, you can use a toaster instead of an oven or toaster oven.
For a slight twist, add a small dollop of ricotta cheese under the halloumi.
