A flavorful and quick stir-fried beef dish with onions, green peppers, and a blend of Ethiopian-inspired spices, traditionally served with injera bread.
In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef with Berbere spice, ground coriander, turmeric, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Add the sliced beef to the hot skillet and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan; work in batches if necessary.
Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and green bell peppers. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes, or until softened and slightly caramelized.
Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes to combine all the flavors.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve the Zilzil Tibs hot with injera bread. Tear off pieces of injera to scoop up the beef and vegetable mixture.

For a spicier dish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce to the beef marinade.
If you don't have Berbere spice blend, you can create your own by combining paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, ginger powder, cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper.
Ensure your skillet is very hot before adding the beef to achieve a good sear and prevent it from steaming.
You can add other vegetables like tomatoes or mushrooms to the stir-fry for added flavor and nutrients.
