Chewy, buttery blondies infused with the rich flavor of maple syrup and studded with toasted walnuts. A perfect treat to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth.
Add the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Whisk until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the toasted walnuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached. Be careful not to overbake.
Let the blondies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

For a more intense maple flavor, use maple sugar instead of brown sugar.
Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant.
For chewier blondies, slightly underbake them.
