A hearty and delicious traditional British breakfast. Perfect for a weekend treat!
Heat a little oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through (about 15-20 minutes). Ensure they are cooked properly; internal temperature of 160F is recommended.
While the sausages are cooking, grill or fry the bacon until crispy. Set aside.
In the same pan (or a separate one), fry the mushrooms in a little butter until softened and browned. Season with salt and pepper.
If using black pudding, fry it in the same pan after the mushrooms until warmed through and slightly crispy.
Grill or fry the halved tomatoes until softened.
While all the above is cooking, heat the baked beans in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Fry the eggs to your liking (sunny-side up, over easy, scrambled).
Toast the bread.
Assemble the breakfast on plates: sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding (if using), and baked beans. Serve immediately with buttered toast.
