Preheat grill to medium-high heat. If using the oven for the sausages, preheat it to 180°C (350°F).
If cooking sausages in the oven, place them on a baking sheet and cook for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through. Alternatively, fry them in a pan over medium heat until cooked through and browned.
Grill the bacon for 3-4 minutes per side, until crispy. Alternatively, fry the bacon in a pan until crispy.
In a separate frying pan, melt a knob of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until softened and browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
In the same frying pan, or in another pan, add the tinned plum tomatoes. Simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes, breaking them down with a spoon. Season with salt and pepper.
Heat the baked beans in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally.
If using, fry the black pudding in a pan over medium heat until heated through and slightly crispy on the edges.
Fry the eggs in the same pan or a separate pan to your liking (sunny-side up, over easy, etc.).
Toast the bread to your liking.
Assemble the breakfast: Place the sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, black pudding (if using), and fried egg on a plate. Serve with toast.
