A refreshing and subtly spiced lychee martini with a hint of ginger and lime. The perfect cocktail to complement your Chinese takeout feast.
**Make the Ginger Syrup (Optional but Recommended):** In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 2 inches of peeled and sliced fresh ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let steep for another 30 minutes. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the ginger. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Chill a martini glass or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add the lychee liqueur, vodka, lime juice, and ginger syrup to the shaker.
Close the shaker tightly and shake well for 15-20 seconds, until the shaker is well-chilled.
Strain the martini into the chilled glass.
Garnish with 2 lychees on a cocktail pick or skewered together.

Adjust the amount of ginger syrup to your preference. If you like a stronger ginger flavor, add a little more.
If you don't have ginger syrup, you can muddle a small piece of fresh ginger (about 1/4 inch) in the shaker before adding the other ingredients. Strain well to remove the ginger pulp.
For a less sweet martini, reduce the amount of lychee liqueur or ginger syrup.
Garnish with a lime wedge or a candied ginger piece for an extra touch.
Chill your ingredients beforehand for an even colder and more refreshing martini.
