A warm and comforting latte made with roasted green tea (hojicha). Enjoy it hot or iced!
Brew the Hojicha Concentrate: Bring water to a simmer in a small saucepan. Add hojicha tea leaves (or teabags) and steep for 5-7 minutes. Strain the tea leaves out, reserving the concentrated tea.
Heat the Milk: In the same saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it's warm and steamy, but not boiling. If using, add vanilla extract.
Combine: Pour the hojicha concentrate into two mugs. Add the warmed milk to each mug.
Sweeten: Stir in your preferred sweetener to taste.
Froth (Optional): If desired, froth the milk using a milk frother or whisk vigorously until foamy. Spoon the foam over the lattes.
Serve Hot: Enjoy immediately.
For Iced Hojicha Latte: Follow steps 1-4. Let the hojicha concentrate cool slightly before adding it to a glass filled with ice. Pour in the milk, stir, and enjoy.
