A flavorful twist on classic hummus, infused with the aromatic spices of South African Bobotie. Served with warm pita bread for a delicious snack or appetizer.
Combine the drained and rinsed chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, Bobotie spice mix, salt, and pepper in a food processor.
Process until smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Add more Bobotie spice mix for a stronger flavor.
Warm the pita bread according to package instructions (microwave or oven).
Transfer the Bobotie hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with your choice of toppings (cilantro, chutney, almonds).
Serve the Bobotie hummus immediately with the warm pita bread.
