Crawfish for a Cause

May is a time for mudbugs! (Or crawfish, crawdads, or whatever you choose to call them). You have 2 options to participate in this fundraiser for Fertile Ground Food Cooperative. Option 1: Join the class and volunteer crew ($30)! This class will cover all you need to know for cooking up a crawfish feast, including options for seasoning, ingredients to throw in with your boil, side dishes, and what equipment you need. The group will be preparing the crawfish boil that will be a fundraiser for a local non-profit. There’ll be plenty of crawfish for you to eat. You’re welcome to bring your own beverage for this event. Option 2:. Plate Pick-up ($20)! Come afterwards and pick-up a crawfish plate. The plate includes crawfish, corn, potato, a homemade slice of focaccia bread, and a homemade deviled egg. Spring Food Fest

From ice cream to turkey legs, you will be able to get your state fair food fix at this special event. Most vendors will be cash-only. An ATM is located on the east side of Dorton Arena. This will be a walk-up and take-out event. Masks will be required when social distancing cannot be maintained. The North Carolina State Fair is planned Oct. 14-24 at the fairgrounds.
